Valley City is in the path of totality for the Total Solar Eclipse on
April 8th

Our event will feature various activities including educational opportunities, kids’ activities, story time by the library, food & much more!

• 700 FREE eclipse glasses will be available on a first come first serve basis

Guest speakers will be presenting in front of the home bleachers:

1:30 pm Dr. Daniel E. Raible, NASA Electronics Engineer, Optics and Photonics Branch Daniel will share some history in solar observations and discuss the sun’s influence on Earth and its impacts on space exploration

2:00 pm John Burke, Medina County Treasurer, will talk about the 1806 solar eclipse which covered Ohio in darkness and became known as the Shawnee Tecumseh’s eclipse.

2:30 pm Madison Brass, Madison is currently a junior pre-vet biology student at the University of Central Florida. She has always had a passion for exotic animals. Her talk is on “Frogs, when day becomes night!

A Total Solar Eclipse is a rare phenomenon. Ohio’s last total solar eclipse took place in 1806, and the next is forecast for 2099.
